About

Terrace Cred. Presents:

A fresh flight of scintillating joy, Lon Dubh are a three part harmony trio singing hypnotic original songs inspired by landscapes of Ireland and its ancient folklore. I was instantly smitten.

Branwen Kavanagh, Anna Ling and Hannah Partridge - all three are established solo artists in their own right, drawing upon folk traditions in their own unique ways and blending carefully crafted songs for three voices that sound like they've always existed.

Branwen is a prolific composer and songwriter, musician, sculptor, storyteller, puppeteer, visual artist, writer of surreal visual plays and a lively adventurer from the West of Ireland. The trio sing arrangements derived from Branwen's original compositions.

Anna is a playful and poetic singer/songwriter, choir leader (Jam Jar Choir, Shambala Festival), and music teacher (Wren Music, Voice Camp, Steiner). She's influenced by a strong connection to traditional British folk music and a long-running fascination with weird and wonderful singing styles from across the globe.

Hannah Partridge is an arts producer (Chorus, Songwriting CIC) and folk musician (aka Anna Anise) folding traditional celtic tunes into her songwriting and supporting fellow women and non-binary artists through creative projects.

Drawing on a wealth of experience in the alt-folk scenes, playing at festivals and venues across the country, the trio have been deepening their sound at an old mill in the South Devon countryside, debut their fresh material across the South West including performances for Sofar Sounds, Cuculi presents and a sold-out show at Bridge Community Farm. They also ventured over to Switzerland to play Stimmen Festival in Ettiswill.

Now, with the aim of a recorded EP in their sights, Lon Dubh will be out across the land and Brighton's Folkore Rooms seems like a natural, ideal spot for them to come and play.

Lon Dubh will entrance you - guaranteed...

...an entirely seamless blend between their voices and yet also found space to express their individual personalities, often veering into hilarity between mesmerising songs of death and longing. Beth Roberts, Cuculi Records.

This bright and joyful trio light you up with playful melodies and stunning harmonies... With whispers of Irish folklore, trad folk and jazz... the way they've craft each song highlights their individuality and their vocal solidarity. Jya Raine, We Are Wild Sessions
